Wholesale Catalogues: How To Design Your Catalogue

Wholesale catalogues can act as your sales agents to retailers. Instead of having to spend time individually selling your wholesale products, your catalogues can do the selling for you. A catalogue can either be a printed version of your web site, or an entirely original creation. Since many retailers will see both your web site and catalogue, it is recommended that it be distinct from its online counterpart. The following tips can be used to produce one with a professional and effective selling design.

Tip #1

Have your contact details, including your full name, warehouse address, phone number, and email address prominently displayed at the top and bottom of every page. The more often a retailer sees your contact information, the more likely he or she is to call and visit your wholesale business. Repetition is the key to memorization, which is why you want your details on every page, on both places on the page.

Tip #2

Have a combination of items with published wholesale prices, and items with unlisted wholesale prices. This way the store owner will be required to call you for pricing information. You want to encourage prospective customers to contact you, so give them a reason to do so. Once they call or email you, you have the opportunity to make a sale and to invite them to your warehouse.

Tip #3

Use nice professional product images. While you do not need to photograph every item that you have in stock, have enough professional grade pictures that illustrate the type of wholesale products that you carry. Place pictures above item descriptions since most buyers want to be able to visualize what it is that they are purchasing, and will usually read the product description if they like what they see pictured.

Tip #4

Write product descriptions that both inform buyers of the quality of the item, and also give them a reason for wanting to buy the items. For instance, if you are selling brand name handbags, explain why the retailer would want to carry them, and why they sell so well. Often a store owner will make a purchase of a product that she regularly does not carry if you can give her a good business reason such as the opportunity to make money selling it.
